As promised, a thread for open discussion of The Gathering. If you haven’t read the book, please don’t read this thread–go back and read the non-spoiler discussion in other threads.
I know I promised chapter 1 in May and haven’t yet picked an idea. Back in winter, that seemed like a perfectly logical plan…forgetting that I would spend all of April and part of May touring for The Gathering. I’m home for one day this week–today–and only because I have a local event So chapter 1 isn’t coming May 1 obviously (I’m spending the day on planes–3 of them–to get to Van Isle for more touring) I plan to pick a topic while I’m gone and hope to have a chapter up by June 1. Possibly earlier, but no promises.
Okay, so I’ve quietly been deleting spoiler comments, hoping folks would get the hint. Apparently, that’s too subtle. So here’s the official post.
DO NOT POST SPOILERS FOR THE GATHERING THIS MONTH!!!
There is no way to hide them with the blog software, so I don’t care if there’s a warning or not. Even with the warning, a reader’s eyes have often already seen enough of the text to get an unwanted spoiler. That’s not fair to those who haven’t gotten the book yet.
In May, I’ll post a spoiler thread. For now, please keep your comments general.
I’m out of the country most of this month, which means I can’t monitor the comment section regularly. If I see another spoiler, I’ll have to shut down comments until May. Please respect your fellow readers by not spoiling the book for them.
The Gathering – Dueling Book Trailers! April 2, 2011
My Canadian and US publishers have both done awesome book trailers for The Gathering. You’ll find both below. Yes, the US one is fancier (it’s live action with actors) but remember that the marketing budget in the US would be a LOT bigger than in Canada
