The Rising cover reveal & contest
June 18, 2012

I have the cover for The Rising! And I’m celebrating with a contest. The winner gets a signed hardcover set of The Gathering and The Calling and gets a spot on the list for an ARC (advanced reader copy) of The Rising (ARCs coming this fall, the book is out April 2013)

To enter, see details under the cover below:

To enter the contest, send an email to contest@kelleyarmstrong.com answering the following question:

“My book covers often have a unifying element–something that ties books in a series together. In the Otherworld, it’s an amulet. In Darkest Powers, it’s the necklace. What is it on the Darkness Rising covers? (NOTE: I’m referring to the North American covers, like the one shown here, not the UK versions)”

Contest closes noon Eastern time Wednesday June 20. One entry per person. International entries accepted.

Off-topic, but on Kelley’s Twitter page, she said that she has some really big news to announce soon. (so big that she was going to announce it yesterday, but some official people somewhere told her to not say it yet). Anyone want to speculate what the news might be about?

I think that it’s going to be about some time of TV/movie deal with the Otherworld series. Someone had asked her a question about it on Monday and she said, “There’s been effort to turn Elena books into Canadian TV show, but I’m not supposed to talk about that ;) Soon.”
Unfortunately, I haven’t read the Otherworld books yet (I’m not old enough to be considered an adult) but I just got really excited for Kelley.

I vaguely remember something from before about a movie deal almost being picked up with Bitten, but that was a while ago. Do you think that another deal is in the works?

    • miki says:

i think there will be, but i hope it will portray the characters correctly because a lot of TV shows based off books don’t do it very well at all.

      • Kelsey says:

I agree. I’d love to see the books acted out, but if the characters aren’t close enough to the books, it just ruins the show.

    • Sherry says:

I dunno; I”m young to be even reading the teen books, let alone the adult ones. But it would be cool to see some of Kelley’s books turned into TV shows/movies…that is, as long as they don’t ruin the whole story with tons of unessicary changes.

      • Savanah says:

We are probably some of the young ones here. haha
I think I was 11 or 12 when I started reading the Darkest Powers series. I’m 15 now. I have heard of some teenagers that read her adult series and they said it was okay content-wise, except for some sex scenes (which you can skip if necessary). I can’t wait because I’m definitely going to be reading them in a couple of years. :D

And I agree. If they do it justice to her books, while attracting new fans, then Kelley would have a “hit”.
(I think if they to convert the Otherworld series into some type of film, I think that they should make it into a TV series. Too many books, too much content, to go into a franchise.)

I’m not even sure if this news is for certain, but I’m just extremely excited for Kelley. :D

        • Lyra says:

ahem. i have lovely news (you may or may have not heard it, but whatever)

Bitten is currently in production for a tv series in 2013. (go to imdb.com) there’s really no info on it except the writers and companies. hopefully they’ll continue to develop it :D

      • Sarah P says:

I started to read her Otherworld series at 12…

    • Kat says:

OMG that would be AMAZING!!!!! If the Otherworld books are turned into a TV show, then maybe DP and DR will be next!(:

      • Monica says:

well, if it was possible for other awesome books, like Vampire Academy, to be made into a movie (2013), well yeah, i guess it would be possible…
i only hope simon and derek and daniel and rafe will be as hot as actors than as how i saw them in my head.

      • Sherry says:

Yeah, that would be awesome!!! Than some lazy people would also get a chance to enjoy them!! (no offense- not that that includes any of you here, since you all read :P ) Just don’t mess up the story…I’m warning you!

    • Kelsey says:

Bitten is being made into a TV show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  2. Kirsten says:

i hope they make movies for the summoning, awakening and the reckoning, i’d be first in line to buy those tickets!!

  3. Shadia says:

Ack! This is taking too long! We don’t have any updates at all!

    • Sherry says:

Haha… :D Please at least let us know who won the contest!! c’mon, people, you owe it to us; we’ve been waiting for what-about a month?

  4. sarah says:

ok, just saying here but you all are COMPLETELY off topic to what you were supposed to answer for this contest. Now i am actually answering her question and its an earring. there ya go.

  5. Savanah says:

Winner was announced on the Darkest Powers Facebook page. The winner was Rachel from Washington. :)

If you are reading this, congrats Rachel! :D

    • Llana says:

Aww…there goes my secret hope that it was taking really long and I was the winner but good job Rachel

    • Teresa says:

Cool, thanks for letting us know Savanah. At least now us bloggers won’t be dying anytime soon waiting for an answer :P :P

And yes if you are reading this congratulations Rachel! :D Enjoy your signed books! :D

  6. Kat says:

This is super random. Last month I dyed my hair for the first time, and the whole time I was dying I kept thinking about the scene in The Awakening when Chloe dyed her hair in the dark bathroom and she could barely see what she was doing. I was just thing that she must have had some good dying skills, because I could see perfectly well and I still kept missing spots!

  7. Catie says:

    It’s the earrings!!

  8. Kat says:

Ok another random…does anyone know when Kelley’s next newsletter is supposed to go out? I know it goes out 3 times a year, which should mean every 4 months. The last one was in March, so there should have been a July one. I just remembered about it because if the Otherworld series is going to be made into a TV show there would probably be something about it in the newsletter.

  9. Shadia says:

Ok so we know who the winner is but….. we don’t have a July page and we r in August. Do u think she’ll just skip the July page and jump to August??

    • Savanah says:

The July page isn’t there because there wasn’t a blog posting in the month of July. If there is a new blog post in August, the August page will be there. :)

      • Shadia says:

Okie dokie. Thanx. I actually thought that there was a page for every months but I noticed that there were a few months that were skipped. Makes sense. Thanx!

  10. Sherry says:

Hey, anyone notice something about the DP covers? In the book, Chloe said she never wears black. But if you look at the cover of the Summoning & the Reckoning, the girl on the cover is wearing a black shirt both times. Interesting, huh?

    • Kat says:

The one on The Reckoning is black? I’m looking at the cover right now and it looks like dark brown to me. But you’re right about the cover of The Summoning. I never noticed the color of the shirt before.

      • Sherry says:

Well, I read it in a day so I guess I didn’t pay too much attention to it. Maybe it’s black, or maybe it’s dark brown. Who knows?

  11. Kat says:

OMG so I was at the bookstore today and I saw all three DP books on a shelf and noticed something really interesting. The Reckoning has a new cover! It’s not that much of a change, but it’s still a little different. The pendant is more rectangular and sparkly and a slightly different shade of purple. The ribbon is dark purple instead of lavender, and the pendant is hanging from a bail instead of the ribbon just being threaded through the hole. Also Chloe’s lipstick is a darker red, and her hair is a different shade of blond. The Summoning and The Awakening still have the same old covers, though, as far as I know.

    • Sherry says:

Maybe it’s because the cover was printed in another country? I’ve seen a cover when Chloe has black hair instead of blonde ’cause she dyed her hair in the story, and one with the regular blonde hair. It’s a possibilty…

  12. Liana says:

Ughhh! The wait for the rising is killing me!
Does anyone know if Kelley’s gonna write another short story?
I think she said she wasn’t gonna, but incase anyone knows……
And does anyone know any other really good books to read in the meantime?

    • Savanah says:

I’m very picky with what books I like. I seriously only have five books/series that I wound consider “worthy”. Here they are:
      1. The Hunger Games trilogy by Suzanne Collins (I don’t think I have to give a description for this. haha)
      2. Darkest Powers trilogy by Kelley Armstrong (once again, no description needed)
      3. The Devouring trilogy by Simon Holt (extremely unpopular– not well-known at all. It’s a horror story about these wisp-creature like things coming in and stealing souls from humans and hiding them in the fearscape in their minds. My description is confusing and it is better than it sounds).
      4. Bad Girls Don’t Die trilogy by Katie Alender (ghost-type stories. It’s difficult to describe the series as a whole because the haunting comes from different sources in each book. The first book is about evil dolls…)
      5. Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver (this girl dies and she had seven chances to relive the day she died and redo her “wrongs”)

Hope I helped! Let me know if you do pick up any of these!

        • Aryn says:

by anything by Jennifer Lynn Barnes i meant any book she wrote…she never had a book called anything. just clearing that up

          • Kat says:

I totally agree. I love all of Jennifer Lynn’s books. Raised by Wolves is my favorite, though.

Woops the smiley face at the top was supposed to say “8″

  14. Monica says:

Did any of you guys read The Host by Stephenie Meyer?

    • Shadia says:

I was gonna but then I changed my mind. What’s it about?

      • Monica says:

Okay. It’s really hard to explain btw, but i’ll try.
The story takes p^lace in a futuristic Earth, not that we have new technology, but that it’s governed by a different species that took control of Earth a few years (decades?) from now. The reamining humans view them as parasites but they call themselves “souls”. They represent all good things: they’re kind, helpful, peaceful, and never have wars or conflicts…they rarely even have arguments! However, the only way they can live is by inserting themselves in a “host body”, taking over mind and body the host (from there comes the human term parasite). So, bit by bit, Earth’s humans got their bodies taken over by souls and now few humans remain.
This story is about a soul (Wanderer) who gets inserted into a resistant host (Melanie). (A resistant host is part of the human resistance). However, unlike in most host bodies in which the human inside disapears when a soul is inserted, THIS human just won’t go away! So basically, there are 2 ppl sharing the same body: one trapped inside, and the other, extremely annoyed and wanting her head for herself.
Melanie was part of a group of three resistant humans, all believing that they were the last humans on Earth. One was her younger brother Jamie, and a hot guy she loves named Jared. Through Melanie’s memories, Wanderer has come to know these two very well and has even grown to love them!
So, she decides to head out into the desert, believing that they were there, and from then on, the action really begins, and W/M’s plan to find them won’t go as easily as they thought because what they both thought was impossible, turns out to be…
Anyways, it’s really well written, much better than the Twilight series, and all the friends i’ve lent it to haved LOVED it!

        • Shadia says:

Oooh sounds like a good book. I’m DEFINETLY reading it! Thanks for the descriptions. U sooo got me interested. And it does sound better than the Twilight series. 8)

          • Monica says:

I had to do a book talk on it at school. I can tell you EVERYONE was confused…You can’t really understand it until you read it… But I can say that this book was good enough that i read it like, 3 or 4 times, never getting bored.Great end of vacation book!

  15. Sherry says:

Still no post? We’ve been waiting for almost two months! (I understand that Kelley’s busy and all, but you have to admit this is a bit disappionting.)

  16. Liana says:

OMG, Last week I was on vacation, and at my hotel pool there was this guy who I thought kinda looked like Derek! He was tall and muscular and totally fitted Dereks profile!

    • Sherry says:

I mentioned this already, but I once saw this couple who looked exactly like Chloe and Derek at my NEIGHBOR’S HOUSE!! (Not to brag or anything) Creepy and yet cool…

    • Kelsey says:

There was this guy in my gym class who looked exactly like Derek would. He was really tall and muscular and had black hair that hung exactly the way Derek’s does. It was really weird.

  17. Monica says:

Ok, here’s a topic question: if Kelley Armstrong were to write a new series, like the dp or dr, what sort of supernatural characters would there be? would it be another experiment? what age would the ppl be?
    what would the story be?
Then again, I think some ppl mentioned an Icaris project? I searched it up and maybe the project is related to ppl with wings for flying…sort of like Maximum Ride! I mean, Icaris and Daedalus, his father, escaped a prison by making wings that allowed them to fly! (Greek mythology)
    Just an idea….

    • Monica says:

srry, actually the closest search to mythology or supernatural stuff of any kind gave me searches of Icarus, not Icaris, but still…

    • Kelsey says:

If you go to edisongroup.org, it mentions four different groups, two of which have been introduced. The two that have been done so far are Project Genesis and Project Phoenix. The other two are Project Thunderbird, which probably has something to do with weather based on the picture, and Project Valhalla.

    • Sherry says:

Maybe the Icarus project is giving supernaturals wings…? No clue really. There isn’t much more than, like, 2 mentions in the series.

    • Sherry says:

Oh,and I just seached the Edison Group site. How come the access was ‘denied’ for Projects Phonix, Thunderbird, and Valhalla? I only got a video of Genesis out of the whole site. Think they don’t wanna spiol things here?? It’s got my suspisions up…

      • Jinx says:

what do you think project valhalla and project thunderbird are??????????

        • Kelsey says:

I think Thunderbird has something to do with the weather because the picture is a tornado. Maybe they are half-demons who control the weather, like a Tempestras, or whatever it’s called. The Valhalla has a picture of an hourglass looking thing, so maybe it has something to do with time? Just a guess.

          • Sheridan says:

Kelley has said that Valhalla is Kat’s experiment.

          • Monica says:

Also, on wikipedia, they say that in Norse mythology “Valhalla” is the “enormous hall located in Asgard, ruled over by the god Odin. In Valhalla, the dead join the masses of those who have died in combat known as Einherjar, as well as various legendary Germanic heroes and kings, as they prepare to aid Odin during the events of Ragnarök. Before the hall stands the golden tree Glasir, and the hall’s ceiling is thatched with golden shields. Various creatures live around Valhalla, such as the stag Eikþyrnir and the goat Heiðrún, both described as standing atop Valhalla and consuming the foliage of the tree Læraðr.”

Maybe the vampires are the dead waiting to help their creator in a battle to come in the supe world? But then, who would represent Odin?

Or maybe the hourglass represents a time limit, maybe a the time limit before a war erupts, or a time limit on vampire ageings (spelling???)?

As for project Thunderbird, it wouldn’t surprise me that it has smthing to do with controling weather and stuff. were there any weird weather stuff in dp, dr, and the underworld series? i don’t remember. maybe it’s also the control of the elements…

          • Kat says:

If Valhalla is Mag’s project then maybe it does have something to do with time. Sort of. Didn’t Kat age like a normal person until she “died”? Or maybe it’s something to change the lifespans of supernaturals.

      • Kelsey says:

I don’t think they’ve done anything with the site recently, so they haven’t updated it for Project Phoenix. Hopefully they haven’t forgotten about it because I want to see what they are going to do for each group.

        • Aryn says:

wait, valhalla is kats experiment? why isnt icarus on the website? isn’t it an experiment too?

          • Monica says:

            Idk
some ppl mentioned it before, so i decided to do research on it.
            maybe it’s an outside experiment?

        • Sherry says:

How many crazy experiments did those mad (literally :D ) scientists do?!!? And is it JUST the Edison Group, or also the Cabals? ‘Cause Icarus wan’t mentioned on the EG site. Maybe that’s not one of their experiments; but the St. Cloud’s or the Nasts. Any suggestions??

          • Monica says:

Well, is there are a site for the Nasts and st clouds?

          • Aryn says:

I think that maybe Thunderbird has something to do with the elements maybe? and i think that maybe valhalla has something to do with time, or when i looked it up, it said that Valkyries wait at the gates…so maybe something like that?

          • Sherry says:

            @ Monica-
            Not that I know of.

  18. Emily says:

OK, so I just reread the Calling, and I just realized (stupid me) that Liz and Maya have the same last name. Liz said she lived with her grandmother. Does anyone know what happened to her parents? Could Liz’s dad be Maya’s uncle?

    This cannot be a coincident.

    • Kelsey says:

Liz is a half demon, which meas that her dad is a demon. And her mom is a drug addict, which is why she lives with her grandmother. Also, Maya is adopted, so if there is any relation, it is through her adopted parents.

  19. Sherry says:

Hey, if you’re looking for something to read while waiting for the Rising, go to http://www.fanfiction.net and click ‘Browse’. Then, click on the ‘D’ in the alphabet thingy. Scroll down until you find Darkest Powers. There’s a huge archive of fanfiction there!! And if you’re interested in writing any, just sign up to add it. It’s a great site!! Go check it out!!! (I couldn’t find a category for Drakness Rising series, though :( )

    • Savanah says:

I think that the Darkness Rising is mixed with the Darkest Powers. If you look under the character list, their names are written there. :)

      • Kelsey says:

I hadn’t noticed that before. That has to be pretty recent.

        • Sherry says:

          @ Savanah-
Yeah, oops! I figured that out AFTER I posted the comment. Hehe.. :P

        • Savanah says:

I had checked earlier in the year and it wasn’t there. I didn’t know if there was going to be a new category for the DR trilogy, or if they would merge with DP. Neither was present. But a couple of months ago I saw it. Not many people have written stories with the DR characters, though– which is sad because they’d make for some really awesome fanfic!

  20. Sherry says:

If any of you are looking for something to read while waiting for the Rising, go to http://www.fanfiction.net and click ‘Browse’. Then click the ‘Books’ category and ‘D’ on the alphabet thing. It should come up with a list of books that start with D. Find Darkest Powers, and click on it. It should come up with an archine of DP/DR fanfiction. They have some great stories!!

    • Kelsey says:

Do you have a favorite Darkest Powers fanfic?

      • Sherry says:

Nope, but I’ve written some! Go to the Search box, type in ‘magic of the moon’ (without the quotations) and search for the author. I’ve written two. And if you’d be nice enough to leave a review, I’d be delighted. Thx!! :)

        • Savanah says:

For some reason, I couldn’t find your story. Would you mind telling me your username instead?

I have been reading DP fanfic for a while as well (it was basically what I did two summers ago and I seriously knew every story and author) I haven’t done a good job at keeping up-to-date recently, though. I need to because DP is the only fanfic that I will read and I know that there are some really good ones!

*shameless plug* Just a few hours ago, I was working on my DP fanfic for the first time in ages. It’s called “Hidden Conspiracies”. I haven’t updated in a long time (I mean it– one year!!!), but I’m trying to get a new chapter up. I also have a one-shot titled, “A Mother’s Gift”. If you find the time, a quick view of it would be nice. :)

          • Sherry says:

Your stories look interesting, too. I’ll have to add it to long long list of ‘To Read’s! :) Thanks for the review, as well!

        • Savanah says:

Oh wow! I’m so stupid! You said that that was the title of your username– I thought you meant that that was the title of the story! I’ll definitely go read your stories now Sherry! :)

    • Monica says:

yup, some are pretty good! thx Sherry :P

  21. Ja'Leah says:

I can’t wait for the next books to come into the library. This books are wat i was looking for to help me write my own book called Heros Mystics Force and Demons Curse. Kelly Armstrong inspired me by writing these books. Thank you Mrs.Kelly Armstrong

  22. sam says:

    WTH still no updates?

    grrr…

  23. Paige says:

I now I’m late but the earrings

  24. Sherry says:

When is the exact release date for the Rising anyways?? I know it’s in April, but what’s the actual date? Anybody know?

  25. Kat says:

So my school has a seriously awesome library, and I was in there with my friend looking at books. Suddenly I saw The Gathering and The Calling sitting on a shelf, and I started freaking out because I was so excited. People were staring. It was really funny.(:

  26. Makayla says:

Heys guyssss, I havent read any of the Darkness Rising books, but Im gonna The Calling bc i am compllllllletely in love with derek

    • Savanah says:

Make sure you get The Gathering before The Calling! The Calling is the second in the series.

And be prepared to be introduced to all new characters! This series revolves around the new characters, but the Darkest Powers gang will make an appearance in the third book. :)

  27. Monica says:

Hey, did you guys picture Maya like KA did? ‘cus me, it was, like totally different! And Daniel, in my head, he was more macho, serious looking, sor t of like with a strong jaw and longer hair. For Rafe, I had in mind a medium height guy, well built but not too much, long-ish hair, slimmer face, and with a cocky smile. Nicole makes sense, in y mind, but Sam doesn’t look as disdainful…it’s like, the guys i see in my head when i read the books are totally different that what other people see. So, what about you guys?

    • Savanah says:

I picture Maya like the actress in the book trailers (and I guess the girl in the picture as well). :)
I pictured Daniel to be tall, not extremely built (although I know that he is a wrestler. my brain just refused to put two-and-two together), with dirty blonde hair sort of spiked on his head (so kind of like Simon’s hair). (it’s really, really close to the picture given)
I pictured Rafe just like your description.
Sam I pictured EXACTLY like the yearbook photo.
Nicole looks like how I imagined her.
      Corey is pretty close.
I didn’t really have an exact image for Annie, so I guess the model works for me.
Hayley looks NOTHING like how I imagined her. I pictured Hayley to look exactly like actress Haley King with her light brown hair.

So all of mine are pretty similar to the pictures. I saw the pictures right when they were released (and I think that was before The Gathering had come out), so that’s probably why most of mine are similar. Haley is most likely different because her picture was not out before I read The Gathering so I had developed my own image. :)

Ok this has taken waaaaay too long. I can’t believe this! I haven’t even been in this site for more than two months and its still like this?! What the heck? What’s happening Kelley?

  29. Sherry says:

Where is Kelley? Anyone else feeling like she disappared off the face of the earth?? HELLO!? It’s been 1…2…3…4…5 months!! I honestly understand if she’s busy, but FIVE MONTHS!!! That’s… I’m not sure how to describe it even. It’s just too long!

    • Emily says:

I know right! Even a post about what Kelley had for breakfast would be AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

    • Savanah says:

Kelley updates her Twitter quite frequently! She’s finished Nadia 3, she just got done with the Smart Chicks tour, she posted the UK cover for The Rising, etc. :)

      • Emily says:

SADLY, my mom does’t really know what twitter is so she won’t let me get an account :(

        • Sherry says:

I’m not allowed on those sites–Facebook, Twitter, etc.

          • Shadia says:

Same! I don’t have a Facebook or twitter account. My parents wont allow me to get an account. So this is technically my only source, but….. U can see what’s going on.

      • Savanah says:

Oh, you don’t need a Twitter account to look at other people’s messages (“tweets”, if I’m using the correct terminology)! Viewing others’ accounts does not require making one. I went a long time before I made one, and one of my favorite things to do on the Internet was keep up with my favorite musicians and authors on Twitter.

If your parents don’t want you going on Twitter period, then I understand. But if you just aren’t allowed to make an account, I would definitely recommend viewing Kelley’s to keep up-to-date with everything! Here is the link: https://twitter.com/kelleyarmstrong

        :)

    @Ms Kelley Armstrong
Hey most-awesome-author-in-the-world, I was checking up on amazon.ca today and I noticed that your Darkest Powers Omnibus was sold for over 400$, while in spring 2011 it was sold for around 20 dollars. This has really been confusing me. Do you have an explanation for this?
    Big fan,
    Monica

    • Savanah says:

I’m not Kelley Armstrong (darn!), but I think I may be able to give you an explanation. This might not be the exact reason as to why they are priced that high, but this is my take on it.

The omnibus came out in December of 2010 (someone please correct me if that is wrong). It was only available for one month, and only in Canada. That makes it super rare. Also– if the book you are looking at is signed, it is also going to increase significantly in price.

Do I think that the price is reasonable, despite these reasons? No, not at all. If you want the book, I would suggest searching other sites, like eBay. :)

  31. Sherry says:

Darkest Powers bonus pack 2 is available on ebook, for those of you who missed it on this site!

  32. Emily says:

Dear Kelley (Savanah, I know you will answer),

When will you be put an expert of The Rising on the website? I am having a hard time waiting for April (bad Emily, bad Emily).

    Thanks! Keep writing!

    Love,

    Emily

  33. Emily says:

    LOL!!!

I just got my 74 year-old Grandma hooked on the Darkest Powers Series :P

  34. Helen says:

the one thing that she shows alot on the darkest powers covers is the earringing

  35. Sherry says:

OMG, it’s November, and still no updates! Did Kelley abandon this site or something??

  36. Emily says:

OMG!!!!! Have any of you guys (girls?) read the book TEN? So creeping. You should check it out, but only if you like mystery horror books.

  37. Kat says:

Any Beautiful Creatures fans out there? If so, have you read Beautiful Redemption? I just finished it yesterday and it was AMAZING!!!

    • Savanah says:

I read Beautiful Creatures a long time ago (I think it was about three years ago? Right when it came out!). I really enjoyed the first book (it was even the basis for a school project of mine… along with the Darkest Powers trilogy). Sadly, I didn’t like the second book (and haven’t read the others), but I’m excited for the movie! :)

(side-note: I really, really like the cover for Beautiful Redemption!)

  38. Angela says:

Wow well I have been waiting for a new blog but I guess not xDD I lover her books I read all kinds of books, adults, teens even though I’m 12 So i really lover her books. Her Darkest Powers had all the elements/ traits I loved in a story, romance, drama, friendship, paranormal, teens everything ;D

  39. Elsie says:

I miss the blog. But I reread The Reckoning while I was sick yesterday and I can’t believe how much I miss it! Can’t wait to Derek to return in The Rising <3

    • Sherry says:

I know, right? I wonder where Kelley went… AND WHY ISN’T SHE POSTING HERE ANYMORE!? Sorry, just had to get some of that frustration out… :P I also can’t wait for the DP characer’s returns (mostly Derek)

  40. Emily says:

Anyone looking forward to The Hobbit? I’m a big fan of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman!!!!!

  41. Ontario Girl says:

seriously miss the blog i keep checking and hoping that it will come back :(

  42. Monica says:

EVERYONE! BEAUTIFUL CREATURES (movie) COMING OUT IN FERBRUARY!
    THE HOST IN MARCH!
THE SMURFS 2 & PERCY JACKSON IN AUGUST!
srry, i was bored and ended up on imdb…. :S

  43. Emily says:

Well, I’m sure Kelley will be back on the blog before March because last year there was A LOT of activity on the blog in March. Hopefully it will be sooner, but if not, we have a somewhat set date for a return on the blog :)

  44. Monica says:

Happy last day on Earth everyone!
I’m sad: that means that there’s a chance we won’t be able to read the “Rising”!
    HORROR!

    • Sherry says:

Actually, it’s just been proven via NASA that we’re not going to be destroyed. They’ve observed no particular object headed towards Earth. It turns out that the Mayans’ end of the calendar actually didn’t mean the end of the world. The meaning only got twisted once Westerners came and interpreted the calender cycle the wrong way. That’s right, *cycle*. So, apparently, it’s not the end of the world and we still have a chance to read the Rising! :D

  45. Savanah says:

    Happy Holidays to everyone! :)

  46. Monica says:

    Merry Christmas!

  47. Emily says:

Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year!!!

  48. Emily K. says:

Oh, I got lots of gift cards for Amazon.com for the holidays and you can imagine what I pre-ordered…The Rising! I’ll get it mid-April, and it was a fair price. I can’t wait! I loved both series’ and can’t wait for them to mix! (My favorite part of any TV or book series is when two of the groups meet, I don’t know why, I’ve just always loved the tension and what the characters act with each other.)
I’m super excited and hope that one day Kelley will write a few books for the Valhalla and Thunderbird projects! I love, love, love the series, it even helped coax me to become a writer myself. Keep writing, Kelley! Please! :D

    • Savanah says:

I’m the exact same way! This series is also what made me want to become a writer. I realized just how much I love characters and how I would love to one day myself spin stories with intricate characters like the ones Kelley writes. I’m still deciding what I specifically want to do with writing, but screenwriting is definitely something I’m closely considering (which I have a feeling might subconsciously stem from Chloe’s same dream). :)

  49. Liana says:

Awww I wish Kelley hadn’t abandoned this blog :(
Especially now when we needed her!
The wait for the rising is like a slow death…….
But we all forgive her right?

  50. Sabina says:

    So pretty!
